Hey there! My name is Raina and I’m a Certified Flight Instructor. Let me tell you about my journey.

A part of me has always been involved in aviation. Both my parents worked for United in Houston, and my first discovery flight was at David Wayne Hooks (KDWH) when I turned 14. I flew around 80 hours at KDWH, but it was spaced out over 3 years due to school obligations, so I was unable to get my PPL.

After high school, I attended The University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, but it was not my passion. The next summer, I took all my written exams before attending ATP Flight School in Arlington. Here, I completed the program in 10 months, ultimately attaining my MEI and CFII certifications. Over the course of my flight training, I’ve seen both the good and bad of flight instructing, as well as the value of both Part 61 and Part 141 programs. I’ve gained insight and respect for structure, as well as adaptability. My goal is to use my insight and experience to make safe and qualified pilots.

Outside of flying, I like trying new foods, traveling, and entertaining my cat!
